Overview of the Year - 2021
In 2021 Stage 3 will complete units of work about Adaptations and the Effect of a Changing Environment (Term 1), Chemistry (Term 2) and Product Life Cycle Analysis (Term 3). Please follow this link for an overview of the year in Science and of the homework/assignments associated with these units.
Google Classroom
In 2020 I will continue using Google Classroom to communicate with students, post assignments, and also where students will be asked to submit assignments. Google Classroom is one of the tools available in Google Apps which has been made available to all NSW DEC users (teachers, staff and students). It is a secure online environment and students need to have a code to log into individual classrooms (groups) set up by their teacher.
To log in to the Google Classroom site (classroom.google.com or access via Student Portal - Google Suite apps) you need to use your DEC email which is your login name (eg Jane.Smith and a number if there is one) @education.nsw.gov.au and the password is the one you would normally use to log in to any school computer.
You will then be directed back to the DEC site to verify your username (First name.last name and number NOT email address) and password and then you should be taken back to the Google Classroom site. If it your first login, please scroll down and click on the "I'm a Student" button. On the next page click on the + sign to "Join a Classroom" and enter the code you have been given by me in class.
Once in the classroom, you will be able to see all messages and assignments (on the left). Clicking on the name of the assignment will take you to a page where you are able to create a new document or presentation to complete your assignment. If you have already completed your assignment, click on the "Add" button and either attach a link to a Prezi or upload your file. Don't forget to click on the "Turn In" button when you're ready to turn in your assignment.
Good luck and please contact me at [email protected] if you run into any problems.
